Synthesis of Fe3O4 Nanoparticles with Different Shapes Through a Co-Precipitation Method and Their Application

Abstract Magnetic Fe 3 O 4 nanoparticles (NPs) were successfully synthesized via co-precipitation method using ferric chloride and ferrous sulphate as the starting materials. The shape size of NPs controlled by different types additive including ammonium hydroxide sodium hydroxide. results revealed that adding hydroxide, particles attained a spherical with uniform size. On other hand, turned from to cubic magnetic showed both samples hysteresis loop, which indicated have ferromagnetic behavior. In addition, higher adsorptive behaviour towards Congo red compared NPs, is attributed enhancement their properties. adsorption onto was best described Langmuir isotherm model, while followed Freundlich model.
